Our
story
Our Freedom Journey
As a young adult, I learned a lot about work ethic and determination as the 5th child of 7 growing up in Connecticut. I did not learn a lot about personal finance until I heard more about debt elimination and investing in college.
In 2012, I got married and Brianna and I started to do what most of us do - accumulate debt and not have a plan to pay it off. This was until 2014, when we bought our house in Stratford, Connecticut.
Two months after we bought our house, we felt the stress of home-buying and realized we could not afford our house payment, let alone all of our other payments. We thought we were supposed to be able to afford this house, while still investing and paying the minimums on all of our debt. We had our backs against the wall and throughout we made the biggest mistake of our marriage and our lives. We thought we would need to sell the house we bought just 60 days prior.
Before calling our realtor, we researched Dave Ramsey and began to follow his baby steps. We got on a written plan (a budget) and slowly realized we could afford the house as long as we did not continue to live outside our means. We needed to pay off our consumer debt and we started to do it! Within 18 months, we paid off all of our consumer debt (credit card, car leases, student loans and medical bills) and purchased two cars with... CASH!
Since then, we have continued working Dave Ramsey's principles and over the past 7 years have accomplished a lot. We are accomplishing our goals by having a plan, continuing to learn and overcome obstacles, and doing it together - as husband and wife - working together on the same team.
Financial freedom has allowed my wife to spend less time at work and more time with our young children. It has allowed us to be able to enjoy our time together and not fight about our finances. It has not been perfect and easy, but it was the cost we were willing to pay to accomplish our goals.
We have never felt more freedom than having control over our finances. We used to live paycheck to paycheck and at the end of the month wonder where our money went. Now, we plan ahead. We course correct when necessary, and work together to create goals that we once would have never thought we could accomplish.
Your Financial Journey
Over the past few years, I have realized that there are not enough people giving you hope about your future. There are so many people who are yelling negativity into your life about the past, present and future. So, this is where Freedom Financial Coaching came to existence. We exist to speak truth through the noise.
I have felt an overwhelming sense to help others find the same financial freedom we have found ourselves. I work with clients to inject hope into their current situation. Nobody is perfect with their finances, and everyone needs a coach to help them right where they are. My goal is to understand your situation, create a plan for your finances, and inject hope into your life. My hope and prayer is that by working together you will be able to find so much peace and freedom in your financial journey, that it will overflow into the other areas of your life. The goal is that you will be able to do work that you are passionate about; become a better husband/wife, father/mother, uncle/aunt, or friend to those around you; be more generous with your time and money than you have ever been; and become the person you have always dreamed of becoming.
The reality is that most Americans cannot pay for a $1,000 emergency without using a credit card. If you feel like you do not have a clear plan with your monthly finances, or you want to feel confident with your financial future, make the best decision of your life and get time on my calendar. I would love to have a conversation with you so you can hear how you too can have a clear plan and finally have peace with your personal finances.
Freedom is something we often take for granted in America. When we remember the freedom we have in our country, we have to remember the sacrifice, the dedication, the perseverance and the blood, sweat, and tears that go into it. Our financial freedom is no different. If you are willing to put in the work that it takes to win, I am ready to be with you through the process.
What else is there to say? Let's get started.
